christmas week was so much fun this past year. we spent it in richfield with Travis' side of the family. it was so nice to be able to just relax and enjoy the christmas season with games (SETTLERS OF CATAN, MY NEW FAVORITE BOARD GAME) and christmas movies and christmas treats! we all scored with everything we wanted and we are so very blessed. i hope that everyone had a wonderful christmas!

First things first! Travis got his braces off finally. They were on a lot longer than we thought they were gonna be on, but we are very happy with the result!

I got to go on my first christmas tree hunt! I was very excited to go! It was just me and Travis that went and we went to the perfect little spot! There was a little bit of snow! So we parked the truck hiked up like 10 minutes, Travis spotted a beautiful tree, he chopped it down, and we were done! It all happened a lot faster then I thought, but apparently we just got lucky! Sometimes you have to search forever!

We took Kwinton to the The Shops at the Riverwoods to check out all the lights! He LOVED all the lights! Good thing they had fires about every 10 steps because it was freezing!! It makes me look forward for temple lights tomorrow night!

So I have been really into moose lately! I saw this moose beanie on etsy and I broke down and made my first etsy purchase! I Love it!!

this boy loves his bath time! when he hears the water come on he runs into the bathroom super excited attempting to take off his clothes himself. he cracks me up when he plays in the bath. tonight i decided to break out the bath crayons and my camera to get some pics of him playing in the tub!

i am so happy i got this face of his. it is a classic kwinton face as of lately. the sound coming out of his mouth is a growl-cry sound. ha. pretty annoying. he definitely sounds mad when he does it.

i love this little boy so much.

It has been getting colder and colder here and it finally snowed for the first time last night! I was so excited to take him out to play in the snow this morning. However, it did not last too long! I realized I need to go buy him some little gloves and a good snow coat!! We went to the store and I found those items and when I went up to check out the line seriously had 30 people in it!!!! THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE! I will attempt going back during the week... hopefully it will be less busy!!

We gave Kwinton a hair cut! Part of me want to just let it keep on growing, but it was starting to look a little scraggily... so we trimmed it up a little!

tonsils.

so for the past 3 years i have been getting these things called tonsil stones. honestly the nastiest thing, but yes i had them. just google them if you have never heard of them and you want to know. so i went to the ENT doctor and sure enough he told me that i have deep pocketed tonsils and the only way i was ever going to get rid of the tonsil stones was to get my tonsils removed. he scared me about this surgery and told me it was one of the hardest to recover from surgeries!

BOY was he right! i ended up getting my tonsils out last wednesday! all went well with the surgery but the recovery part has honestly been the worst experience of my life! i am hoping in the next week or 2 it will all pay off! this is day 5 so the doctor said it will start getting better after today! but the pain!!!!!! my ears, throat and jaw have never hurt so bad in all my life!

the pain killers i got, i have been taking those every 4 hours and those just make me dizzy so i have honestly just been sleeping. but today i decided no more pain killers!!! travis had to get back to school and work so i have my baby boy who needs me. i cannot wait until i can eat some food again! i have only had sonic slushies & ice water! i tried eating oatmeal yesterday morning for breakfast but that even hurt going down! i am 11 pounds down but i actually don't even want to lose any more weight!

on a brighter side, travis is done with school in only a month in a half! i got called to be the secretary in the primary presidency which i am super excited about! i am coming down to arizona the week of thanksgiving! and its the best time of year!

we had such a fun halloween this year. holidays are seriously so much more fun with a little kid around. kwinton dressed up in his monster shirt for his halloween day-wear.

and then, to go trick-or-treating we dressed him up as a little homeless man! cutest little bum ever! we just took him to like 5 homes around the neighborhood to people we knew, but kwinton was totally into the idea of people giving him candy. he loved it!

i feel like kwinton is getting so big so fast! he is now 13 months and he is learning so much. he is quite the little jabber box! he is repeating words so good lately! his latest word he will just say by himself is tractor. a tractor is a tractor, but a truck is also a tractor haha. silly boy. he loves to read his books. he loves his little car we got him for his birthday. he loves to go bye-bye. he is always standing by the door saying "bye-bye". when we are at the store or any public place he is saying "hi" and waving to everyone in sight and he is determined to get every person to wave back at him. he loves roaming around outside. he is only taking a 1 hour nap a day but at night he is the best little sleeper!12 hours usually. i just love putting my little boy to sleep at night... i just lay him in his crib and he snuggles up to his blankey and closes his eyes! cutest thing. he can run our iphones so good. he pushes the button to light up the screen, slides it to unlock it and he can scroll through the aps! craziest thing. we just love him so much. best little boy ever. cutest little boy ever.

well it is starting to really feel like fall up here and i love it! i absolutely love this time of year!
to get in the fall spirit i finally made a wreath to hang on my door!! I love it! I had a wreath laying around and all the supplies to make it cost me about $5! I love cheap little crafts.

Travis' grandmothers house has lots of trees growing the most delicious apples! we spent monday morning (freezing) picking apples! they are so tasty and we have been eating them like crazy so i am glad we picked 2 boxes full :)! kwinton loved walking around, picking up the fallen apples, and throwing them!

i have never canned before but with so many apples my sister-in-law, darby & i decided we wanted to make fresh apple juice and apple sauce!! what a process!!! very time consuming but i think i like the whole idea of it. if you have tons of produce that you can get for free it is worth your time! then the following day, her grandma donated us tons of tomatoes so we decided to make salsa!! and darby came up with the best way to cut the onions! genius!

the beautiful brown/fielding family came up to utah for the week too! i love when they come to town! they are the greatest to hang out with! it was so much fun hanging out with them this week! one of the days we picked up some lunch from kneaders and went on a picnic up the canyon to enjoy the gorgeous weather and all the pretty colors that are on the trees right now!

at times i am ungrateful for the farm because travis is literally ALWAYS there (or school). but most times i am very grateful that they have the family business. travis is able to provide for us. kwinton LOVES riding in tractors, running wild on the acres & acres of grass, and just being down there! + we can go visit travis whenever we want! lucky us.

I have definitely been in a crafting mood lately! I have had quite a few random projects going on and I finally finished them all up!!
1. Menu Board. I got the frame at Savers for $2. I spray painted it with some silver we already had and used paper I had laying around! I'm hoping it helps motivate me to cook dinner every night! Travis filled it out and I actually made that dinner every night. As long as I know what I am cooking I am more likely to cook a yummy meal. I swear just coming up with what to cook is the hardest part!
2. A couple weeks ago Snapfish was having a 1 pennie/print sale!! So I went through all the pictures I had of Kwinton since he was born! I ended up printing out 344 pictures! I organized them in chronological order and I finished his scrapbook of the first year of his life!
3. I made my first jean blanket! That took me forever!! It even got to the point where Travis said he would take me to get some ice cream when I finished haha! I had no idea how long hand-binding a quilt took! It was worth it. It has been so nice to have it for going out to the farm and hanging out while dad works :)!
4. I made some alphabet magnets with the bag of glass stones from Dollar Tree! I bought some stickers, traced out circles on black paper, and hot glued them on! Super easy & super cute :)!

I want to make these pillows for my couch next! I saw this idea at a super cute fabric store by my house! I think they would be so cute for fall.

I bought these night stands off KSL a couple months ago. They have been neglected and my goal is to get them done this next week. I want to refinish them and either pain them gray....... or a blue color. Travis' vote is gray, but I am not 100% sure what I want to do yet. Our room is already gray & white and I don't want our room to be completely boring! What do you guys think?!

Next on my list- a backboard for our bed!!!!!! It needs one, I know!

So I would just like to start off by saying how thankful I am for the gospel in my life! It is honestly the best thing in the world and we are so very blessed.
I havn't ever publicly complained about this, but we have (had) a 2007 Dodge MegaCab 2500 truck!! It is honestly the best thing to have a truck. I love having it! I love to drive it. They always come in handy! Safe!! Good for snow driving!!
The only thing I don't like is the $800 truck payment we had to make every month! I married into this truck payment, so I had no say in him buying a $50,000 truck haha!! But anyways, we have been paying extra on it every month just so we can get it paid off to be done with it. Not to mention all the things that were breaking on this brand new truck!! $1000 here, $1000 there, was just getting old to me!!

Ok. Well about a month ago Travis came upon an AMAZING deal on a newer, fewer mile truck!! He was sold on it from the beginning and he got it. So we had 2 trucks!! So, then we had to sale the DODGE because there was no way we were going to have 2 trucks :)!! So we put it up for sale about a month ago. People would call and come look at it, but no one ever bought it! So we decided to fast yesterday to ask our Heavenly Father to help us sell this truck! And low and behold we sold the truck today!! We are so very blessed. We were able to pay off our truck loan and pay off this new truck and we are debt free!!! No more truck payments!! I am one happy girl!!

Today was Kwinton's first birthday! I think he had a perfect day. Right when he woke up we gave him his "cozy coupe" and while Travis & I got ready for church he played with it! It was just so cute watching him. He would open the door, get in, close the door, sit there for a minute, then get out, and close the door again! He was so entertained with it!! HE LOVES IT :)!
Then it was church time and my little guy looked so handsome today! It still blows my mind that he is already a 1 year old. This past year has just gone by way to fast! Kwinton is just getting cuter and cuter by the day and we love him so much!
This evening we had a little birthday party for him! We had some family/ friends over and we had yummy Hawaiian haystacks and then had cake and ice cream! When it came time to open presents Kwinton did pretty good. He got into ripping off the paper! Each new toy he opened he wanted to play with, he never wanted to move on to the next one! So we would have to take the toy away and then hurry and distract him with the new present! He definitely scored in the present department!
Blowing out the candle was so funny! He honestly didn’t know what to think about the candle. He just kinda stared at it. Eating the cake was slow at first but then he really got into it. Kwinton didn’t like the frosting all over his hands. He would try to clap and his hands would stick together! He was happy to get all clean afterwards!!
We just put him down and when we put him in his crib he just snuggled up to his blanket and closed his eyes. I love nights like that! He was so happy all day long and was ready for goods night rest!

Happy Birthday Kwinton! Your mommy & daddy love you so much!! You truly are the cutest little boy and the best son we could ask for. We are so very thankful for you and the fact that we get to be your parents!!

11 months.

Before Kwinton turns one on SUNDAY, I just wanted to write down some things that he has been doing this month.
-Learned to walk August 30th.
-Is becoming more of a daddy's boy. Figures, he would rather go play at the farm with dad then stay at home with mom. I knew that day would come.
-He is getting so good at waving hi/bye-bye. Does it on command now.
-Claps when he gets excited.
-He has been growling lately. Kinda funny. I don't know how long it will be funny for.
-Will say ball, car, dog, ma-ma, da-da, and can identify and say nose.
-Loves reading his books.
-At the store, he doesn't want to ride in the carts. He wants to PUSH the cart.
-Gets excited to watch his Baby Einsteins.
-Only time he will cuddle is right when he wakes up in the mornings.
-Points at everything and says "ooooooooh".
-He is a little gabber. It cracks me up. He acts like he knows exactly what is going on.
-When me or Travis hold him he links one of his arms to ours. He is our little monkey.
-Loves our dog & our chickens. Pretty interested in all animals.
-Loves peek-a-boo & hide-and-go-seek!!
-Loves to be in the water. Bath or splash pad or pool :)
-Loves to share what he is eating or drinking.

August 23rd Travis turned 27! His birthday was pretty low-key but I am pretty sure that is how he likes it! I woke up and made some breakfast for him, which is big for me since he gets up @ 6, brought him lunch at the farm, and then made him a yummy dinner! I know I should probably do those things everyday... maybe someday?!

I was so excited to give him his birthday presents this year because they were actually a surprise for him!! He usually figures out what I am giving him. I got him some new boots for work, new socks, a pretty pic of his favorite temple, some new feather-down pillows, and The Fox and the Hound (his favorite from when he was little, and we might as well start up our little kid movie collection).

That evening we had Travis' friends over for some dessert! I got some waffle-cones from Baskin Robbins and we all had cones and sundaes and cookies! Very yummy and a good way to end a good day!

I am seriously so grateful for my husband. He seriously works so hard for our family it blows my mind. I don't know how he keeps on going. He just started his LAST (YAYYYYYYYY!!!) semester of school (he is applying for graduation this semester) and wakes up @ 6 to be there by 7. Is there till 12. Then goes to work till late after that! I feel like I never see him lately but we are lucky enough to be able to go hang out with him at work whenever we want! I am grateful for every time we actually get to go do something fun!! Most of all I am grateful that he loves me and Kwinton and he is willing to work so hard for us!!

We took a little road trip down to St. George! The first night we were there we extended our road trip down to Mesquite, NV to go swimming in the pools @ the casino hotels with Cody, Clayton and Katie! It was a lot of fun to hang out with them!
The following day we got to attend Paxon's baby blessing and hang out with Kade and Branda Lee! We had such a fun weekend hanging out with them.

We got to go to dinner with Cavin, my cousin! He is serving a mission in Chile and we will miss him the next 2 years! We are so proud of him! He even shared some of his Ruth Chris Steakhouse cheesecake. YUMMMY!!

We celebrated Kwintons 11 Months Birthday! We went to Baskin Robbins and we all shared a waffle cone! I cant believe my baby will be 1 so soon!!

Ok so I have been in a major health kick lately. Kwinton is starting to eat more real foods..which makes me buy lots more fruits and veggeis!! I just wanted to share this recipe for a "Green Smoothie", this is seriously what I have everyday for lunch.
1/2 cup blueberries
3 strawberries
1/2 banana
1 cup spinach
2 TBS Greek Yogurt
1-2 TBS milk
Drizzle some honey in there
Ice
= DELICIOUSNESS. I seriously crave it and it is so healthy!!

We drove to Arizona, to hang out for a couple days and to go to my cousin Justin and his wife Lindsay's reception! It was so good to be down there and see everyone! I miss living down there so much! We got a lot accomplished this trip! I got my hair done including a brazilian blowout=AMAZING and we got so,e swimming and hanging out with friends in too!!

It was so cute, at the reception Kwinton was bear crawling around and little Merrick got down and was bear crawling around with him!! SO CUTE!

We also brought home our sweet little puppy! She is a 3 month of blue heeler and her name is Blue-Belle! We love her so much, she is seriously the best dog! She doesn't need a leash or anything she just sticks by us and comes to us when called! She loves going to the farm with Travis to hang out all day! She rides in Tractors with whoever--- and hops in the back of Trav's truck when he runs errands! So cute! Everyone loves her!

The other day we went to visit Travis at the farm and I decided to just let Kwinton get dirty (FOR ONCE). It was sooo funny! He was covered in dirt from head to toe!!

We have had a lot of spash pad/pool days which results in one tired cuddly baby! I LOVE IT!

And we have so GOOOD news! Our garden has started producing something besides zucchinis!

Every year, the first week of August, the Burns side (Travis' moms) of the family has a family reunion. This year we went up Hobble Creek Canyon and camped! I have never been much of a camper but we all had a really great time. It was only about 30 minutes away from our place, so I was able to come home and shower 3 times.... Trav had to come back every day anyway for work so I just tagged a long with him!
Anyways the theme this year for it was "Family & Tradition"! It was fun getting to know each families traditions! I love mingling and getting to know everyone! If your camping for a week... you get to know EVERYBODY pretty well and I think it is great!
The weeks events included lots of yummy foods & desserts. Treasure Hunt. Find the wood needle (A shovel handle that a hole was carved into and had a point...made by GREAT GRANDPA BURNS)--- It was hidden in the camp area, which was huge! Winner got $100. Of course Trevor, the hunter found it after like 3 HOURS!! Candle Making. Pedicures. Massages. Bracelet making. Campfires! Badminton. Horse shoes. Games. Murder Mystery Game. Lots of fun!
We have an 8 person tent so we were able to fit our air mattress in there plus Kwinton's port-a-crib! He SLEPT surprisingly great :)! It was such a fun-filled week. Can't wait till next year!

2nd Anniverseray!

On July 30 we celebrated our 2nd anniversary! I cannot believe it has already been two years!
Our original plan was to drop Kwinton off with grandma, and go hike the slot canyons in southern Utah but the weather forecast-ed thunderstorms! Apparently it is a big NO-NO to hike those when its raining because flash floods happen quick So we are postponing that little adventure for a couple weeks! So the day turned into a family day and I wouldn't of had it any other way! Our day included breakfast, shopping, hiking, a movie & dinner! Kwinton was pretty good all day---except for dinner!! He was CRAZY and made a huge mess... oops!

We started the morning off with Kneader's, chunky cinnamon french toast! It was seriously probably the best breakfast I have ever had in my entire life! I had never been there before, and I am in trouble now cause it is all I ever want for breakfast again! Maybe I will have to attempt to make something that good one of these days!

Travis- So glad I married you 2 years ago! I think we can put up with each other pretty good. Can't wait to spend forever with you. Love you. XOXO.

Summer Days-July!!

I cant believe July is already Over!! This summer is flying by! Here is what we have been up to!

I have nursed Kwinton from day 1! This boy doesn't even know what a bottle is! But he is getting teeth so he is done! We went straight to the sippy cup!! I thought he would have a hard time with it but he is doing better than I am.... OUCH!!! I didn't know stopping nursing hurt so much. He is LOVING it being able to get a drink whenever he wants!!! Trav and mine anniversary is coming up so we might get to take a little getaway!!

Kwinton likes to feed himself. So seriously whatever we are eating I just cut into little chunks and he eats it too!!

The only time this boy is clean is right when he gets out of the shower!!!

Kwinton loves to go check on the chickens!!

I gave him a hair cut the other day!! His hair seriously grows so fast! He must not get that from me because my hair grows sooo SLOW!

We upgraded Kwinton's car seat to the britax marathon!! I LOVE this carseat and I highly recommend it! This carseat is like $289 .... but when I went to go purchase it.. Babys'r'us was having a clearance sale and Britax just came out with a newer version of this exact seat so I got mine for 50% off!! SCORE!! He is a much happier boy in the car now!!!

We got him a swing for daddy's shop! Now we can go hang out without me having to hold him the entire time :)

Kwinton is LOVING his toy trucks! He is entertained with those things for ever!!

YOGURTLAND....is delicious!!

Midway is the cutest town in Utah!! And my sister in law's parents have a house there!! We LOVE to go hang out up there! We recently had a Harry Potter Marathon up there!! So fun :)

Viva Las Vegas!

Last time I was in Arizona, when it was time to come home, Mckenna came back with me to hang out with me for a couple weeks! It was seriously so much fun to have her here and she was lots of help with Kwinton and kept me company because Travis is working ALL the time!! When it was time for her to go back to AZ we decided we would go down to St. George and spend a couple days at my sister-in-law Darby's parents house and then meet my Dad & Chey in Vegas so we could break up the driving a little bit! So we got to spend a couple days hanging by the pool and then went shopping in Vegas! It was a great little mid-week getaway!!

Us hanging out in St. George! Kwinton loved spashing in the hot tub and swimming on the floaties with us! It was so nice to be able to lay out and work on my tan again that is quickly fading!! And we crimped Kennas hair! I loved it... It needs to come back in style!!!

We hit up the H&M in Ceasers Palace! IT WAS HUGE! I was a bit overwhelmed. But SUCH cute clothes for decent prices! It was so hard to shop though with a hyper baby who wanted to crawl around everywhere!!!

And of course the fishies! Kwinton couldn't get enough of them.

The best part about the whole trip--- I knew my dad and Chey were going to be getting to the mall soon so we started walking to the parking garage! When we came around the corner to get to the elevators we see my MOM!! I seriously had to do a double take because I didn't expect to see her! It was such a great surprise to meet up with my whole family! We went to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and it was amazing! I just LOVED it :)!!

9-10 Months!

So Month 9 completely flew by without me doing his monthly post! I am a slacker, but we have just been having to much fun not blogging!! Plus it is a complete waste of my time to even try to get on computer because one of Kwinton's favorite things to do is pound on the keyboard.
Anyways, here are some things that Kwinton has been doing month 9&10.

-Fastest bear-crawler around/stink-bug (his knees never touch the ground)
-His FAVORITE things are balls & wheels! Like I am serious about the wheel thing. Anywhere we go that there are strollers being pushed around/ carts he wants to be down there playing with them.
-Has mastered going up&down the stairs.
-Blows bubbles in the bathtub.
-Has figured out how to drink through a straw!! It was funny, I didn't think he knew how to drink out of a straw and I was drinking a coke and I put the straw up to his mouth and liquid came up the straw into his mouth and the out of his mouth all over his shirt!! Guess I wont be holding anymore sodas up to his mouth, don't want him to like soda so young haha!!
-Puts his bottom lip out.
-He sticks his tongue out when he is concentrating!
-His hair is just getting blonder & blonder.
-We are pretty sure he knows who da-da-da are & who his ma-ma-ma is! And he even will say ba (ball) when he sees one!!
-He is a mommas boy!!!
-He likes to shake anything that is shakeable!!
-Gives high-fives.
-Has a big open mouth grin!
-Likes to get your eye contact, like he will move so he is right in front of you!
-He LOVES our iphones for some reason. And he acts like he knows how to use it. Like he moves his finger all over the screen and taps it.
-Loves to read his books. He especially likes the ones with the little flaps and he opens and closes them.
-Expressive eyebrows!!
-He will walk along furniture and will walk with help but no steps on his own yet!
-Whenever he does something he always looks back for my approval. Even if I say NO, he still does it! I swear if I say NO he goes into speed mode though... ex. toilet, toilet paper....
-Loves the swing!
-Loves to crawl around everywhere and explore!
-LOVES cabinets. Hasn't pulled anything out yet he just opens and closes them.
-Can open and close his hand and wave hello/goodbye!
-He breathes really hard(on purpose) when he gets excited!

We just love our boy so much! He brings us so many smiles!

Independence Day!

I think the 4th of July is at least my 2nd favorite holiday now! I just LOVE it! I LOVE America! We are seriously so blessed to live in a free country! I am so thankful to live here! I also LOVE all of the festivities that go along with this great day! We had a fun holiday weekend!

We put Kwinton in the Diaper Dash! It is a crawling race! We figured since he has been such a momma's boy lately he would have a chance at winning because if he is with anyone else he will do anything to get to me! Well... he won the 1st heat! He crawled speedily right to me! YAY!! But, when it came to the finals round, he was crying to hard... oh well, I LOVE my boy!!

We went to the horse races! I have never been to a horse race and it was pretty fun! I highly recommend betting on horses EACH round. It makes things much more exciting!

We walked around the carnival & ate snow cones! Kwinton passed out.

We watched Cars. Such a cute movie.

We went and watch fireworks. I have never been cold watching fireworks. It was such a nice night! Kwinton just kinda chilled and watched them. Never got to excited or anything!! Maybe next year he will be more into them!

And $500 worth of fireworks later... Travis and his brothers were able to put on a pretty dang good show of their own!

Happy Father's Day to all the great dads & future dads out there!!

I know I am one lucky to girl who has 3 amazing dads in her life!!

First of all, my Daddy! He is seriously the BEST dad in the whole world! He has always been there for me! He is a hard worker. He is the funniest guy I know. I can just tell by the way he treats all his girls that he LOVES us all so much! LOVE YOU DADDY!

Then there is my father-in-law! He is one of the greatest people I know! Not only has he raised a great family but he raised my now husband! He welcomed me into his family with open arms and I will always appreciate that! He is hard working, super caring, and always has a smile on his face! LOVE YA JAY!

And of course, Travis! He is such a great dad to our little boy!! He is such a hard worker!! He is up at 5:30 every morning, and he doesn't get home at night till 9 or 10 or sometimes even later!! And somehow I feel like he still makes time for me and Kwinton!! Happy 1st official fathers day sweetie!! We love you and we couldn't be luckier :) !!

I was seriously down in AZ the for the perfect couple weeks! I got to be there for Chantel's Birthday!! I LOVE this girl! She is one of the coolest, nicest, prettiest, stylish, most creative girls I know! I am proud to call her my friend! I am glad I got to hang out with her and her little girl LOTS while I was down!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHANTEL :) !!

For her birthday party she had a BBQ/ Swim day! They have the BEST pool in the world so it was a ton of fun! Kwinton got to go swimming for the 1st time.. and there is nothing better than swimming on a HOT summer day!!

So the first reason I came down to Arizona was for Cheyenne's graduation, and the SECOND reason I came down is because my friend Shae was getting married! So we threw her a super fun bachelorette party!

We went to IPIC theatre in Scottsdale! I have never heard of it before this, but it is basically a LUXURY-movie theatre! You get to sit in a recliner! They provide you a blanket & a pillow! Soda & popcorn is complimentary! And then they offer you a menu if you want to order snacks or food or anything!! Dinner & a movie all in one! I thought it was pretty sweet! I have never watched a movie at the theatre in so much comfort! I will definitely be going there again!

We saw Bridesmaids! And it was seriously soooo funny! I was basically laughing the whole entire time! I loved having a night out with the girls! It has been far to long!

Kwinton got to go on his very first plane ride! I was seriously so nervous to take him on the plane! It was a late flight, and I was afraid he was gonna be fussy the whole time because it was what time he usually goes to sleep!! But, he was the best baby EVER! Didn't cry once! A couple people came up to me and told me he got the #1 baby award!! So ya, now we are in AZ! And it feels great to be home! I have missed my family so much and I just love hanging out here! All my AZ friends.. I would love to do something!! So if your bored! Call me :) !!

We have done some swimming already! I have missed the SUN! I already got a little sunburn... but it has turned to a tan so ill be ready to be out in the sun soon :)!!

We went to lunch for my Aunt Denise' birthday @ Ah-So! Merrick was so cute with Kwinton... He was given him some hugs!And one of the main three reasons I came home is for my sisters graduation! She graduated from Gilbert High thursday night! I am so happy I could be there!

I am doing these posts too much! Time is just going by way to fast! My little man is 8 months now!

-He likes to feed himself.. finger foods like cut up fruit and cheerios!!
- Loves to act like he is in a rock band and shake his head like crazy!
- Is completely entertained by his Baby Einstein DVD's
- Quite the little talker, he always has something to say!
- He has been sleeping 12-13 hours straight @ night! so crazy!!
- He is crawling EVERYWHERE. He has gotten pretty dang fast!
- Pulls himself up to anything and everything!
- He doesn't like to be held... He would rather be roaming around!
- Loves to be outside :)
- I think he has some shyness in him... When someone talks to him he kinda nuzzles into me! Ha!
- He has been doing this little one chuckle laugh thing and he will do it after after anything we say!
-Plays with his tongue to make funny noises!
-Has learned to spit his food EVERYWHERE!

Mother's Day Weekend!

Saturday Trav and I went jet skiing! I have not been in a very long time... and it was seriously sooooo much fun!! It was perfect weather! The water was freezing but we were not in the water so it was all good :)! I got my first tan lines of the summer... woo hoo! So glad that our friends have jet skis! We are seriously gonna be going A LOT this summer!

After we were done, we went and picked up Kwinton & then headed down to the farm so we could finally plant our garden! We planted corn, zuchinni, squash, carrots, lettuce, bell peppers, potatoes...... and that is all I can think of right now! It's good to get that done though!!

Sunday, I had my first official Mothers Day... and I LOVED it! Travis didn't want me to have to do anything! I started making some cookies.. and he insisted that he had to do it! I asked him what he wanted me to do... and he said go lay on the couch or something... lol! So i pretty much relaxed all day! I got spoiled and got some new make up & an iphone car charger/transmitter so I can listen to it in my car :) !!

I AM SO THANKFUL TO BE A MOMMA TO THE BEST/CUTEST/HANDSOMEST LITTLE MAN IN THE WHOLE WORLD! I truly believe that there is nothing better than being a mom!

When I was giving Kwinton a bath today... his shampoo bottle fell into the water and he started playing with it! I didn't think anything of it till I realized the top was not screwed on all the way! So basically half the bottle of soap was just sitting in the tub... So I turned the water on again and Kwinton had a supper bubbly bath! He loved the bubbles :)

I cant believe it is end of April already! I hope that everyone had a super fun Easter Sunday! Since all of our family and friends had other plans and we wanted to stay home because Travis has finals this week we just spent the day together with our little family! We got up and went to church!

After church and some yummy lunch we went on a Sunday drive up the Provo Canyon to Wallsburg! It seriously is the cutest town and it is gorgeous! I would not mind living up there!! The canyon drive is sooo pretty and it is so nice to see things getting green again!!

Then we went down to the farm to hang out! A couple weeks ago we got some baby chicks! They have been pretty fun to watch grow up so far! I can't believe how fast they grow! But a couple days ago Travis decided we needed adult chickens so we can actually be getting fresh eggs NOW! So he got 5 chickens, along with a chicken coop... and ya we have chickens now.. ha! It is kinda fun to be getting fresh eggs everyday! I obviously need to start using more eggs cause we have lots already! So if you need some eggs, come get them!!!

Travis studied at the farm for a while and then we came home to a a delicious roast, potatoes and carrots that had been in the crock pot all day! Wow, seriously everyone needs to try those! I got the recipe off picky-palate.com

Seven Months!

Kwinton is now 7 months...( I am a little late... again!)

::Crawling....EVERYWHERE!
::Pulls himself up to furniture!......and not so stable items... such as car seat!
::Likes to climb on people/things/stairs
:: Says da-da when he see's Travis
:: Likes to put toys in his mouth and crawl around
::Loves to swing!
::Loves peek-a-boo! (Especially when we throw a blanket over him and he moves his arms to find us again)
::Doesn't like the feel of grass... Hopefully it will grown on him ;)
::Has figured out how to get out of his bumbo.. so we graduated it..we will be buying a high chair soon!
::He squints his eyes really hard when he is happy or when he likes something!!
::Favorite toys--rubber ducky, sing-a-ma-jig, plastic hangers, paper (we confiscate that as soon as he gets it because it goes straight to his mouth)!
::LOVING all the new foods he is trying! If I had to guess I would say peaches is his favorite! I cannot spoon it into his mouth fast enough!

Kwinton LOVES baths! He doesn't stay sitting up for to long because he likes to go down to his belly and splash splash splash!! He will seriously just go from one end of the tub to the other putting his face under and having a good time! It is SO funny! Can't wait to go to Arizona and teach this little boy to swim!!

And we have a crawler on our hands now!! He is cruising around now!! And he LOVES being able to get around!!

I have been dying to take Kwinton out to the swing by our house and we FINALLY have beautiful weather! It feels so nice to feel warm, with the sun shining!! I AM so LOVING it!

Needless to say... He LOVED THE SWING!! He could not get enough of it!!

But after a while he got into a totally chilled out mood..... so funny!! It must have relaxed him. He had a good nap when we came inside!!

Six Months!

So I know I am super late but my little boy is 6 months old (on March 11)... and I cannot believe it! Half a year kinda went by super fast! I cannot imagine life without my little guy! He is the best baby and seriously so much fun! WE LOVE YOU KWINTON!

-Crawls backwards.... hasn't quite figured out how to move forward yet!
-Likes to do push-ups
-He is a little talker.... says da da da da ALL day long! (Trav is happy he is saying "dad" first, idano if ill count it cause I don't think he knows what it means yet)
-Sits up all by himself
-LOVES to grab things and shake them ( I don't really know how to explain this but.. for example, if we stand him up and grab his hands he LOVES to basically do push ups in the air?... hopefully that makes sense)
-He is happy if he has something in front of him to grab onto or pat...LOVES the grocery cart, high chair, sitting at the table)
-Wearing 12-18 months clothes!!
-At his 6 month check up he was 27 2/4 inches (90% ), and 17.4 pounds (47%)
-LOVES baths!!
-His hair is starting to come in super thick and I love it!
-LOVES to eat.... he has had peas, corn, sweet potatoes, banana yogurt (for the babies)... and of course the baby rice!
-Sticks his tongue out!
-Holds his arms up for you when he wants to be picked up!
-Cut his 2 bottom teeth!

Ok so me and Travis' mom did his 6 month pictures! Not professional status.. but they turned out pretty cute!

Arizona!

Kwinton and I got to go on a little mini-trip down to Arizona! My sister-in-law Ashley and her Husband Sean had a family reunion down there... so I wanted to tag a long! We drove all night Tuesday (which worked out perfect cause the babies slept the whole way)!!
I LOVED being able to spend time with my family! I miss them so much so it was way fun to hang out with them for a couple days! They loved being able to love on Kwinton while he was down there too!
We went out to eat LOTS! Freddys... delicious!!Firehouse Subs... delicious!!! and Don Jose...DELICIOUS.... if you are ever in the Phoenix area... you have to go to Don Jose! It is the yummiest mexican food restaurant! I remember going there as a little girl and if I ate all my food my mom would let me get a candy and I would always get sugar babies! When we went.... I chowed my food so my mom continued the tradition!! Anyways, this restaurant closed down for a couple years but it just reopened a couple months ago... so it was fun to go! 44th Street & Thomas!......and while your in the area... GO to the $10 shoe store!!! Serious cute shoes for $10!
To say the least... We had a good time!

All American Sod

Over the weekend we had the opportunity to go up to the Home and Garden Show in Draper!

All American Sod (the family business) had a little booth set up so my husband got to talk about sod all day to soooooo many people! Lets just say I learned tons about Sod! It is good for me to learn about it because sometimes I work in the office over the summer when it gets really busy! And the good news is it is finally getting warm enough for the sod business to be gettin busy.. so if you need some sod... now you know where to go!

In the mean time Kwinton and I walked up and down the aisles checking out all the cool stuff. We enjoyed some cooking shows... sampled delicious smoothies... and watched a bunch of sales dudes do their thing. Pure entertainment!

Sick!!

My baby boy has been sick the past couple days! It seriously breaks my heart to see him not feel good! I wish I could be the one sick instead of him!! I had no idea that teething was this rough! He has had a pretty high fever the last 2 days! This is all new to me because he has been a healthy boy from the beginning! All I can say is there is nothing worse than seeing your baby sick! We went to the doctor this morning and there is nothing the matter with him! No ear infection, his breathing is fine, and they even checked for a UTI!
The good news is he is acting a little more like himself today! I can still tell he doesn't feel 100% yet.. but I can only hope that he continues to feel more and more better!!

He is 6 months old today! I can not believe it! He is just growing up too fast! He is seriously such a joy and I couldn't imagine my life with out him! He is the best!!

6 months = more variety in food! We are starting with peas! I tried to feed him some today... and he was totally grossed out! We will try again tomorrow!!

I decided to make home-aid baby food and it is seriously sooo easy! All you have to do is....

Buy some frozen veggies...
Steam them...Blend them... (BY THE WAY WE JUST GOT THIS MAGIC BULLET AND IT IS AMAZING, IT REALLY IS AS COOL AS IT LOOKS ON TV)
To basically a MUSH... (I know gross)
Put in ice cube tray...
After they froze.. I popped them all out and put them in a Tupperware so they will not get freezer burnt. SOO easy! Now I just hope the taste grows on him!!

And my precious little boy!! I actually had him laughing for a while today but as soon as I broke out the camera all the smiles went away!! But I miss his laugh and smiles!! I just want him back to being healthy again!!!

Risk & Weddings!

Well I officially learned how to play RISK! It is my husbands most FAVORITE game so I thought I would break down and play the game! It is honestly the longest game ever. Like MONOPOLY! But I guess it is kinda fun! I am not much of a game girl but there is a chance I would play this again! (Like maybe once in the next year?... ha)
For some reason the game didn't have any dice.. and we didn't have any so we used the laptop and a dice generator! I think it would be more fun to roll actual dice...so maybe I'll buy some eventually!

My really good friend April.... her little brother got married over this past weekend! We went up to Salt Lake for the evening so we could help out with all the wedding stuff going on! Congrats to Kevin & Dalia! We are sooo happy for you 2!

I really wanted to get a family picture... but it never happened... and this is the best we got!!

They didn't have a photographer, and since I just got my camera I offered to take pictures for the night! I am no photographer by ANY MEANS but I actually got a lot of decent pictures! So happy I was able to help them out by taking pictures...

By the way this wedding cake was the tastiest wedding cake I HAVE EVER HAD! 1 layer was chocolate vanilla. 1 layer was coconut lime. and my most favorite layer was orange velvet with a cream cheese frosting!!! seriously delicious!!!!!!!!!! Let's just say I had to try each kind!

And my baby boy can officially sit up on his own!! Not a newborn baby anymore! He is almost 6 months! SOO crazy!!

** Me & Kwinton are coming to AZ in a couple weeks!! So excited to visit!!

** Also, my phone officially started not working! I was going to wait to get the iphone5! But since I can not hear anyone through my phone nor can they hear me I am just gonna get the iphone4! Luckily my awesome sister in law Katie works for Verizon so we get phone upgrades every 10 months! I just have to wait till the end of the month when we go to St. George to visit them to get hooked up with my new phone. But till then texting is all I can do!

Ski Day!

We went skiing again yesterday! It was my 2nd time going! And I seriously had such a fun time! I felt tons more comfortable than my first time! I LOVE TO SKI! It was a perfect day... it was lightly snowing all day long and there was so much fresh powder!Deer Valley is soooo beautiful! I am to the point where I can ALMOST hang with Travis! He likes to go way fast...hopefully I will get to his level someday! Thanks again to Jaden for coming up with us to the lodge and watching Kwinton all day! Here are some pics from the day.....

I really wanted to ride the Gondola..its like an enclosed little box ski lift.. So we made our way over to it and this is us riding it back up!

Just some things we have been up to...

Jaden, Travis' littlest brother got his mission call! He is going to Columbus, Ohio! He is super excited! He leaves in May! We sure are gonna miss having him around! He is a lot of fun and such a good uncle to Kwinton! We went to Manti so we could go through the temple with him. It was awesome just like always! My first time leaving Kwinton for longer than 30 minutes! Kailyn was a good sport to watch him because he wasn't that good of a boy for her. I guess I will have to start having babysitters more often cause he is getting super attached to me! Little stinker... but we LOVE him!!

I was taking pictures of Jaden so Trav was keeping Kwinton warm in his coat!

We (as in Travis) gave Kwinton his first hair cut! We really didn't cut that much... We basically just evened it out in the back and trimmed the long stragler hairs!! He was such a good boy. Pretty sure he wasn't sure what was going on!

We all had dinner at Trevor and Darby's cause all the family came up to go skiing at Deer Valley the next day! I finally learned how to ski and it is actually tons of fun! I thought I would hate it because I like snowboarding so much... but they both have their benefits :). But Deer Valley is skiers only... and we get in free there so I had to branch out! All the pics from the skiing trip are on my mother-in-laws camera so I will have to post those later! And a big thanks to Jaden and Grandma Burns for watching Kwinton in the lodge! He was actually a really good boy this time around!! But we are going again this weekend so I am super excited!

And Kwinton is just so cute so here are some pics of him THINKING about crawling. It is not actually happening yet! He will prop himself up and if there is something he wants in reach he will just dive for it haha....

5 Months!

I forgot to do a 5 month post for mr. kwinton, so here it is!!

- Has started giving kisses
- Sticks his tongue out all the time
- Rolls over both ways
- Loves staring at his dad
- Loves going for walks in his stroller
- Hates his car seat
- He can sit up but is still a little wobbly
- Goes to sleep when he is put in his crib with out much of a fight
- Loves it when we make funny noises at him
- Locks his hands together and moves his arms back and forth
- Still wearing size 1 diapers
- Loves his rice
- Started drinking water from sippy- hasn't quite figured it out though

He is seriously.... SO MUCH FUN :)

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! We had such a fun day and got to spend the whole day together! Makes up for my birthday cause Travis went to work all day!! But anyways...we had a yummy french toast breakfast! Hung out... did some homework... and then went to Red Robin for lunch! Then when we got home we realized how nice of a day it was out... (I never thought 50's would be considered nice to me?) so we all decided to go for a walk! We walked down to the gas station so we could get a redbox for later that night!! Kwinton absolutely loved his stroller! We seriously have not used it all.... but now that it is getting nice...we will be going on more walks!

Kwinton is starting to LOVE tummy time! I never thought I would see they day.... but he is able to put his legs underneath him and hold himself up! I think someone is going to be crawling soon....

I wanted to get all crafty and make a bunch of cute Valentines decor... but this is all I got done! I think it turned out pretty cute though! Wood Connections... seriously has the cutest wood stuff that you can get all crafty with!

I LOVE MY BOYS!

I was going to make a nice dinner... but we were so full from lunch that neither of us felt like eating! So about 10:00 when we decided we were hungry we just had some nachos!! Kwinton fell asleep, so we enjoyed watching SALT and a nice little evening with each other! Maybe I will make my nice dinner tonight.... We will see!!

Last Friday was my birthday! I am now 23 years old!! So CrAzY!
When I graduated high school, I knew I would be done with school by now! But I DID NOT think I would be married and have a baby already!! However, I DO NOT know what I would do without those 2! I love them sooo much!!

Anyways... to celebrate we went to Benihanna's... I had never been there before.. but it is this super YUMMY tepenyaki place (where they cook right in front of you)!! If you sign up on their website they send you a coupon for $30 towards your meal on your birthday!! SO WORTH IT. So I went all out... I had Filet Mignon and edamame and a sprite... and I didn't even feel bad for spending $30 all on myself cause it was freeeee!! So both of us ate there for $25!! Not to bad!!

Kwinton was such a good boy all through dinner... he enjoyed the show....

My BIRTHDAY PRESENT!! A Canon Rebel XSi. I have been wanting a nice camera for a while and Trav said I could get one for my birthday! I absolutely LOVE it. I just have to learn how to use it a little better cause it is too high tech for me! But I will learn...

My birthday was Kwinton's 5 month birthday! So we had a fun day hanging out! I can't believe he is already 5 months! Time sure is flying by!!

So I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kwinton's sleeping habits now!!! Seriously!! When he gets tired, I just put him in his crib...and he falls asleep within about a minute! (He must get that from his dad).
When he wakes up I just go in there and he is looking around....(who knows how long he just lays there)!! It is just soooo funny!! I love that little man sooooo much!!!

So Worth It.

So, it all started last Thursday! My visiting teachers were over and we were talking about my baby boy! And they were saying how good a baby he was! I said thanks and told them that the only time he really CRIES is when he is tired & is fighting the fact that he needs to sleep!! So she told me that I just need to put him in his crib at night and let him self soothe and put himself to sleep. It's not what I really wanted to hear........ because I have read that in TONS of places.... and I could never get myself to just let my baby cry in his crib!! (Believe me, I have tried to do it a couple times and it lasts about 2 minutes).

My baby did sleep through the night when he was only a couple weeks old... but he was now getting up 2 maybe 3 times a night... and I was seriously waking up so tired every day.. and my husband wasn't getting much sleep either!! So something had to change!

Thursday night... at about 9:30 I could tell that Kwinton was getting tired, you know, rubbing his eyes... starting to get fussy! So we gave him a bath... rubbed him down with lotion..... cuddled him and loved on him.. and just put him in his crib and said good night! He seriously cried for 45 minutes! (Saddest thing ever!!!!!! I felt like such a bad mom.)I wanted to go and get him a couple times but Travis made sure that we were just gonna get this over with. But when the crying finally stopped, we went in there and he was peacefully sleeping!! So we closed his door and then we went to bed and closed our door....If I were to hear him @ night I would get up with him and he apparently woke up @ about 2 and cried for like 15 minutes and then went back to sleep.... I didn't even wake up but this is what Travis said!! But then @ about 8:00 we could just hear him cooing and talking :)!! We went in there & he was the happiest little boy ever! He didn't hate me!!!!! Not to mention... he had never enjoyed just playing in his crib!!
Every night since then we have done the same thing and it is seriously AMAZING the difference I have seen. At night, when he is tired... we put him in his crib and he just falls asleep. When he is tired during the day and ready for a nap... I just put him in his crib and he falls asleep! And the best part is that he just wakes up soooo happy!! :) He gets more sleep... mom & dad get more sleep.... its a WIN-WIN! and no more tip-toeing out of his room when I put him in his crib just to hear him start to cry 1 minute later!!!

I just wanted to share that... but anyways, Kwinton is such a joy to us! He brings us sooo much happiness. He has just started to discover his toes and his hands and it is so cute to watch him entertain himself! I LOVE HIM SOOOOO MUCH. I don't know what I would do without that little boy!!

Some other major accomplishments.... He has started to actually ENJOY tummy time..

We went shooting over the weekend... me and Kwinton hung out in the truck most the time... but we had to try the ear muffs on him :)

Ok! So I finally got around to somewhat finishing my little boys cowboy room! It is not much but I think everything turned out pretty dang cute!

I LOVE my husband and my baby boy sooo much! I am so thankful that I married such a great guy who takes care of us so well!! I am so thankful that we have a beautiful son! I never knew a little baby could bring us sooo much happiness and joy!
It is seriously the coolest thing to watch Kwinton grow up! He is learning so much and he is doing new things every day! I know EVERYBODY says that kids grow up so fast but it is TRUE! These last 4 months have been the FASTEST, BEST months of my life!! I am so thankful that I get to be home to watch Kwinton everyday because I would seriously miss so much!!
Today has been a good day! I am so blessed to have the Gospel in my life! I am so thankful for family, and good friends! I just seriously have so much to be grateful for!

4 Months!!

Yesterday we had Kwinton's 4 Month appointment!! He is 26 1/2 inches (94%), and weighs 16 lbs (86%) and his head is 42 cm (44%)!! He was such a good boy for the doctor until she wanted to look in his ears, then he just started screaming, but then was fine when I picked him up.. haha silly boy!! I love him soooooooo much! He is seriously such a joy in our lives! We are going to start feeding him rice!! I am excited for that cause then he won't be hungry so often!!
-He LOVES showers!
- He is super ticklish!
-He is smiling all the time!
-He puts everything in his mouth!
-Drools like crazy!
-Sucks on his bottom lip!
-Grabs things with his hands!
-Likes to talk!
-Does not like tummy time, so he automatically rolls to his back!!

2010 in Review!

So a lot of my friends have been doing a month by month breakdown of 2010.... and I am going to copy them cause it is a good idea, and it is fun looking back @ this past year! It has been a good one!

January--We found out we were expecting our 1st baby!! We were very excited about this news!

February-- I turned 22! We had my first ob/gyn appointment and we confirmed that there was really something growing inside of me! We got to hear the heartbeat of our little peanut.. and we got the babies first pictures :)
March-- I was REALLY REALLY sick. Like throwing up multiple times a day. However, we visited Arizona! I got to see my 2 cousins Justin & Craig Shiflet get home from their missions!!

April-- We attended Conference!! We found out we were having a BOY! I made it to my half way mark of 20 weeks!! And I colored my hair brown!

May-- We got a CALIFORNIA KING size bed!! I do not know how we slept on a full comfortably! LOL!!!! We went on a little Memorial Day trip down to St. George to feel some WARMTH!

June-- Travis went to scout camp for a whole week!! Ashley (Travis' sister) got married! Travis got braces!!

July-- Mindy & Shae threw me a baby shower down in AZ! It was so nice to see all my friiiiends :)! My family all took a little cabin trip! It was a lot of fun to go back up there!

Travis & I also made it to our 1 YEAR Anniversary on July 30!

August-- I finished all my school up @ BYU with a degree in accounting!! We went to the Burns family reunion for a week!! I went to AZ for my really good friend Chantel's Wedding! But the main thing I remember is being SUPER prego and just wanting that baby here!!

September-- Our baby boy finally arrived. My due date came and went... and then he got here on the 11th!

Also this month, Clayton (Travis' brother) got married!!
My hair went back to blonde... LOL!

October-- We blessed our little man! And we came to AZ for a couple weeks :)!!

November-- We spend Thanksgiving with the Harris' down in Richfield! It was so fun to have everyone together!!

December-- We came to AZ for a couple weeks and spent the Holidays with my side of the family!

Wow! So now 2011 is here!!
2011 Goals-- (1) Scripture study (2) Save some $ up (3) Eat healthy dinners (4) I weighed myself and I am @ 145. So it wouldn't hurt for me to lose 10 lbs!! (5) I want to find an accounting job that I can do from home... pretty sure I can't leave my baby! (6) Get Trav done with school! (He starts back tomorrow!!)
Now that I have these written down, hopefully they will actually ALL happen!! :)

Christmas in AZ!

So for Christmas this year, we came down to Arizona!! We came from Snow to perfect weather and I absolutely LOVE it! My mother in law asked me what we do in AZ on Christmas with no snow.... and I said we go outside and play... duh! LOL. I thought that was kinda funny!! It has been so much fun hanging out with all of my family down here and seeing people I have not seen in a really long time!! It has been a super nice vacation and we have definitely done a lot of relaxing!!

We definitely got spoiled this year!! We scored a gorgeous [huge] picture of Christ :) from Trav's family!! I LOVE it and I am soooo grateful for that to hang in our home!! THANK YOU!

My Fam hooked us up with a bed frame, got me some super cute clothes, and a bunch of food storage!! And got trav a carhardt!! THANK YOU MOM & DAD!

We finally got our tree up and Christmas decorations set up!! Woo Hoo!! It's about time!! We scored.. well Travis' mom scored..on all our ornaments & lights and somethings for us last year after Christmas!! So this year after Christmas I want to stock up on some more Christmas decorations cause we really don't have much!! But it is alright.. We will get more as time goes on!! So here is what we have set up...

Our handpicked tree... We went tree hunting the day after thanksgiving! Last year I chose to get the teal and silver ornaments! We have so many ornaments, I only put half of what we have up!! I think our tree still needs something.. like ribbon... or that fuzzy silver stuff.... maybe ill get that at the after Christmas sales this year!!
We had to cut our tree down a little cause it was to tall for our home.. so with the left over branches Travis made this wreath! I absolutely LOVE it.
This was my little idea. I love the look of cranberries at Christmas time so 3 of the glass things I had I filled with cranberries & water... took some parts of our tree to put around it and added some pine cones!
And this sums up our Christmas decorations lol...

So this thing used to just be a magnet board... But I decided to make it into a calendar! I just drew on the lines with permanent marker and the numbers and stuff I used dry erase marker! So fun!!
Oh and something else I have been getting into is using coupons. I am no fanatic and I don't want to spend hours trying to save money... cause time is money right?! But there are a couple blogs that I am reading where you can print out coupons and get smoking deals on things! Like I just got the game pitureka for $.24!! All the coupons you just print out and bam. No subscribing to anything at all. I just printed out some coupons so I can get JUMBO packs of diapers for like $3 next week. Anyways.. I hope everyone is loving this time of year! I am loving it. Only one snowfall and it hasn't been toooo cold! Just perfect for cute clothes & boots!

So I have always wanted to learn how to make beanies... and I FINALLY DID! I wanted to make them with the little ear flaps so my crafty mother in law helped me figure out how!! And the beanies I made turned out soooo cute!!

Thanksgiving Part 2

For Thanksgiving we headed down to Richfield! Every single person was able to make it and it was so much fun to all be together! It was definitely a full house!! We spent Thanksgiving morning making food and playing Angry Birds.. ha! The meal was delicious! After eating and getting every cleaned up we headed over to the shooting range to shoot some shotguns!! I got out and shot the gun once but since it was like 15 degrees outside, most of us were just chilling in the truck and going out one at a time to shoot!!

The remainder of Thanksgiving we just hung out.... My mother in law had us putting together Christmas story books! We got to decorate them and stuff using their criKUT! So much fun! The following day we woke up and had a yummy pancake breakfast & then headed out to go Christmas tree hunting! We had to get 6 Trees!! So it took a while... But I know everybody had a great time :) !! I just hung out in the truck with Kwinton!! And I made this beanie for him...

Once we got back from Christmas tree hunting we headed off to the bowling alley! I won my 1st game EVER with a score of 135! (Personal Best)

Yep!! We had to keep OUR OWN SCORE! I now know how to keep score in bowling... LOL!

Thanksgiving Part 1

I LOVE this time of year!!!!!!! It is seriously my favorite! The past week of thanksgiving festivities has been so much fun! I am seriously sooo blessed and I have so many things to be thankful for...

I am so thankful for my husband! He is such a great example to me and he is such a sweet heart! He works so hard for our family and I appreciate him so much! Love you babe :) !!
I am so thankful for Kwinton! I LOVE being his mom. He is the sweetest baby in the whole entire world! He is such a smiley boy and I just cant get enough of that boy! I love him soooo much!!
I am so thankful for my family! I dont get to hang out with them as much as I would like to but I do love them so much and I can not wait for Christmas time!!
I am thankful for all my in-laws! They are all so loving and I am grateful we all get along so well!!
I am thankful for the gospel! I love the fact that I was raised in the gospel and that I was married to a worthy priesthood holder who has such a strong testimony... and we get to raise our family in the gospel too!
I am thankful for friends! I have made so many new friends up here in Utah! And I have some AMAZING friends that are in AZ that I still keep in contact with!! They are all so awesome!!

So I kind of have a lot to recap so lets start with last weekend! We had Travis' moms side of the family Thanksgiving! We had it up in Park City at his grandmas church building! We all hung out and played games and did a white elephant turkey game! And then of course we ate a super yummy thanksgiving meal :)

Blessing Day!

I know this was forever ago but we blessed Kwinton on October 17th! My family was able to come up and all of Travis' family was able to make it too so it was a way fun day!! I am so thankful that my husband was able to bless our son! What a blessing it is to have the priesthood in our home! Travis did such a great job.. and Kwinton was a good little boy while he was blessed. He was wide awake during his blessing!! After the blessing the bishop got up and told the congregation that near the end of his blessing, Kwinton started to fuss a little but then he just looked up at his daddy and a calmness just came over his face as he stared at Travis! I thought that was pretty cool! We had pulled pork sandwiches at our place after and it was a good time! Now onto some pictures!!

So two days ago Kwinton smiled at me for the first time! He has smiled lots before, but it has always been with his eyes closed when he is falling asleep!! So this is super exciting for me and I just think it is the cutest thing ever! Whenever I talk to him and he is in a happy mood he is such a smiley boy and I even managed to get some pics of the smiles in action....

Kwinton and I have been having a lot of fun down here in AZ! It's really hot down here (like in the hundreds, lol) but we will soak that in cause we will more than likely be going back to snow. We went to a ward Halloween party the other night and we carved our pumpkin...

And we dressed Kwinton up like a little monkey...

Travis gets here tomorrow morning! We are so excited to see him! 2 weeks is too long to go without him!

Arizona!

So I am here visiting my family and friends in AZ! My family came up for Kwinton's blessing and me and the babe drove back down here with them! Travis needed to work and also has his deer hunt so he is going to fly down here on October 30th and then we will all head back to Utah the following week! I miss Travis like crazy... but it is so nice to be able to hang out with my family and have it not be such a short trip! We are all just hanging out having a fun time! It is perfect weather here and I am afraid that when I get back to Utah Fall is going to be over and Winter will already be here!! We shall see...

I have gotten to see almost all of my family...(uncles,aunts,cousins,grandma,grandpa), and even a lot of my friends! I still have more friends I want to see.. hopefully I will be able to see them all before I go back to Utah! It has been so good to see everyone!!

Ever since I have gotten to Arizona Kwinton has slept on average 7 hours straight through the night! That has been so nice for me to be able to get that much sleep straight!! I hope he will keep that up and start sleeping longer through the night :) !!

I got a baby book for Kwinton, and I already feel behind! I have so much to do.. and I need to write down all my feelings and stuff throughout my pregnancy before I forget it all!

Kwinton's cute little onsie says "One of a Kind"... and he certainly is! I personally think he is the best baby ever, but then again I have nothing to compare him to! He hardly ever cries, he just whimpers (saddest thing ever)! Good thing I am now a very light sleeper so I can hear him @ night when he is hungry!! His cry does not even wake Travis up!! He only cries when he is hungry or has a burp or when his diaper is stinky! Other than that he is a super happy boy!! He LOVES baths and his tummy time!! We love this little guy so much! I cannot imagine not having him in our lives :) !!

K is now 3 weeks +, but at his 2 week Dr.'s appointment he was 22 1/4 in long (91%), 9 lbs 10 oz (77%) and his head was 37 1/2 cm (55%) ! What a big boy! When the Dr was asking me questions about him he kept on asking the 2 month questions!! He said he kept on looking @ K and thinking he was older than he actually is! LOL. But all is well, and Kwinton is a healthy boy :)

On Wednesday September 22 Travis' brother, Clayton was married to Katie Geake! We love them so much and we are so excited that they got married :) !! They got married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was my first time ever being inside that temple, I really want to go back and do a session soon!! Everything was beautiful :) ! The luncheon was right next door in the Joseph Smith Building! Kwinton was such a good boy throughout the whole day! During the sealing... I had to leave my little guy for like 45 minutes!! It was probably harder on me than it was on him! Thank good for awesome little babysitters to watch him! He was well taken care of!

I didn't have my camera all morning but luckily I remembered it for the reception! And they had Kwinton wearing the cutest little tux in the world...

Delivery Story!

Ok! So it is time to let everyone know how Kwinton got here!!

I went to the Doctor on September 2nd and he said I was dialated to a 3 and 100% effaced... so I called my mom as soon as I got out of the appointment and told her that and she decided to fly up here that day!!
My mom and I walked like 5 miles a day every day for like a week!! We went to the hospital and they hooked me up to some machines and my contractions were every 3 or so minutes but they needed to get stronger I guess! Even though I thought they already hurt pretty bad! The nurse checked me and I was still only @ a 3. I was seriously kinda bummed. So my due date comes... and goes :( !!
Then on September 11 (The day everyone didn't want me to have the little guy)... I went into the hospital at like 530am! I couldn't sleep at all the previous night cause my contractions were hurting me so bad! I got in the shower twice to try and relax.. but then I felt like I should go to the hospital!
So we get there... and the nurse checks me and I am dialated to a 4! I get hooked up to the machines and I am having contractions every 3 minutes! And I am crying every time one happens cause I am a wimp :) !! But the nurse checks me an hour later and I have not progressed at all... but thank goodness Dr. Jones decided to admit me!!!!! I probably would have died if they sent me home.
So I get into the labor and delivery room... and I get my epidural... (I LOVE EPIDURALS)! Dr. Jones broke my water... They put me on Pitocin. I got checked about every hour.. and I got to 5, 6, 7, & 8 ! But then I apparently decided to stop dialating!!! We found out Kwinton was posterior ( He was facing my belly & not my back). Dr. Jones tried to turn him, but could not get him to turn! Me, by that time was running a fever... and Kwinton pooped in me.. So that stuff was getting into his lungs!!! So the Dr. said we need to get him out of there... and do a C section!!! I was kinda shocked.. I didn't necessarily want a C section, but I just wanted to do what was best for the baby!! So in I went!!
The C section went really well.. I seriously did not feel a thing! The only thing I felt was when they were taking the baby out of me, I just felt a ton of pressure up in my chest! I asked about it and it is just air going up there when they take the baby out!! But about 5 minutes into it, Kwinton was out! And the first thing Travis told me was he had curly Dark hair! I was like seriously?!?!?!?! haha!! Travis was right by me the whole time... He wanted to stay by me.. but I wanted him to go look at our son!!!! It was so awesome to see Travis holding him when he brought him over so I could see him!! And he was a big BABY!! 8 pounds 15 oz! So crazy!!
It was the weirdest feeling being all numb. I like couldn't move my legs! So I got back to my room and everyone was gone!!! They were all with the baby @ the nursery lol.... So I just sat there and I was so excited to meet my baby!! The anticipation was killing me! I just wanted to see my baby! Or at least talk to my family about the baby!! But I couldn't move or reach the phone so I just sat there!!! Then finally my family showed up... and then my husband and our son!! So fun!!!!!!!
We have been so blessed with such a good baby! We love him sooo much!!!
After about 24 hours though Kwinton had some blood tests done... and apparently his white blood cell count went up so he was already fighting some type of infection (because I had a fever, I passed it onto him :( ) .... the they took him to the NICU... and he had to be on antibiotics for 48 hours!!! :( saddest thing ever... He also had to be under the Billy Ruben light so I could only hold him every 3 hours or so to feed him!!!!! It was hard to not have him in our room with us... but it was worth it to make sure he was healthy!!! Then 4 days later we got to go home!!! It was so nice to be able to come home.. it was all surreal. But I love hanging out with little Kwinton all day. He is such a cutie and so much fun!!!

38 Weeks!

Well I am 38 weeks! Hopefully only 2 more weeks or LESS!!! ( I AM HOPING LESS... is it bad I am so over being pregnant? And I just want this baby out??) But ya, I had my Dr.'s appointment this morning! And so far I have gained 21 pounds, the Dr. says they baby weighs right around 7 pounds, my tummy measures right at 38 centimeters, my blood pressure is normal, I am 100% effaced, and I am 1.5 centimeters dilated! I think I have felt some contractions but nothing to bad where it has hurt me! The main thing is there is just a constant pain in my left rib!!!! It feels like his foot is just lodged up there or something! Oh.. and he was posterior but he is not posterior anymore :) !! So there is the baby update!!

1 year of Marriage!

So on July 30th Travis and I celebrated our first anniverseray! We wanted to go do something fun and exciting... but since I am 9 months prego I seriously didn't feel up to much of anything :( !! So we both took the day off from work and we hung out all day...We slept in, watched a movie... went to lunch.. went shopping... went to SPOON ME... YUM!!....did some more shopping... and then went to dinner! Nothing to exciting... but it was so nice just being able to hang out with each other all day! Reminds me of when we were dating lol :) !!

We froze the top of our wedding cake... it still looked pretty.. and we tasted a small bite of the cake... but the fact that it was a year old was kinda a turn off... :) Now we have more room in our freezer!!

And that is the only picture I took all day... sad!!

But its hard to believe that one year ago we were doing all this....

I cannot believe it has already been 1 year! I am so happy that I was married to the best guy for me :) ! I love you Travis so much!!

35 Weeks!

Well actually I am now 36 weeks (but I took the 35 week pic).... but I have been busy busy! We had the Burn's Family Reunion last week... and we went to AZ last weekend for my friends wedding! Everything was a BLAST! I will post about that later!

But I had my Dr.'s appointment today! And I got checked and I am not dialated at all... but my cervix is softening (whatever that means?!) ... but things are good. Me and baby are perfectly healthy and doing good! But I am ready to be DONE being pregnant this time around! So he can come out any time now!!

Kenna's Stay Up Here!

When we were in Az last time Kenna got to come back up here with us :) !! It was so much fun to have her up here and get to hang out with her! She is seriously hilarious! I love her to pieces! She got to stay with us for about 2 weeks :) ! But last weekend we drove to Kanab to meet my dad and Chey to send her back home so she could get ready for school and stuff :) !!

She basically woke up @ 5am every day to go to work with Travis! This is usually unheard of for her because she typically sleeps in till about noon everyday :D !But she LOVED going down to the farm!~ She got to ride in tractors, and help Trav fix things! She got to learn a bunch of tools because she was basically his go get it girl! There is a kitty down there and she LOVED playing with the kitty and she loved riding the 4-wheeler :) !! Cabin Trip!

My AZ trip two weekends ago went by way to fast! But we actually got to do a lot of fun stuff :)!!
We arrived in AZ about 4am on Thursday! Woke up a couple hours later and we all piled into my dads truck and we drove to Safford, AZ! We got to eat at Casa Manana... seriously one of the yummiest Mexican food restaurants! I hadn't been there in forever and it was Travis' first time trying it so it was quite the treat! So, if you have never been there and are ever driving through Safford you better GO!

Anyways... the main reason we drove to Safford is so that we could go up to our Cabin! I hadn't been there in forever either so it was cool to go back up there and hang out! I have such good childhood memories up there with my Grammy, and going on hikes, and sitting in the hammocks, and eating watermelon and so much more! I was very excited to show Travis all the things I used to do growing up, up there :) !! We went on a couple hikes.. we went to a meadow I remember playing in all the time... we grilled some steaks, played some horse shoes, and just hung out! It was very relaxing and it actually felt COOL up there! It rained practically all evening and all night :)! So much fun... but anyways here are some pictures from our little trip...

And that basically sums up our little cabin trip... we drove home Friday afternoon and stopped at El ray to eat! YUMMY!

Then I got to hang out with my momma and go to BUNCO with her... and then of course my baby shower on Saturday :) .... and we hung out with some friends and visited some family! But our time just ran out WAY to quick... because we drove back to Utah Sunday!! :( But the good news is we are coming back down in like 2 weekends for my really good friends wedding! Yay!!

So... my friends Mindy Hermann & Shae Brown threw me a baby shower down in Arizona! They are such good friends and they worked hard to make it super cute and fun :) !! We had it as Serano's and it was so much fun to see everyone!! It seriously had been such a LONG time... like almost a year... since I had seen most those girls so it was so fun to catch up!! I scored some super cute things and I am so excited about all of it! But now I am just going to post some pictures..

4th of July Weekend!

I officially love 4th of July and all the festivities that come with it! We had a fun weekend of relaxation and hanging out! Saturday we got a lot of shopping done which was way fun! And I broke down and got a super cute diaper bag at Nordstrom's! It is our first baby purchase!!It is so cute... I don't have it yet because we bought it from their anniversary sale and I don't even get it until July 16th! But it was practically 50% off the regular price...and Travis even liked and said it felt durable lol! So when I get that I will post some pics! But they are limited edition cause they are only make a certain amount for this sale! So i got mine! Yay!! We went and looked at a bunch of baby stuff... and figured out some of the stuff we are going to have to get in the next 2 months! YIKES!This is for sure the car seat/ stroller we want to get! I LOVE it.We had hamburgers and creamies with some friends Saturday night! And we watched the Stadium of Fire fireworks! I wish I could have been at that concert (CARRIE UNDERWOOD) but I'm over it! Then Sunday we hung out and had some friends over for dinner and watched OPERATION REPO on you-tube via our wii! Seriously that show is addicting!
Then... Monday morning we woke up early and Travis' cousin Kade and his wife Brandalee and their cute little boy Brekken met up with us and we made some breakfast! Then we made ourselves some tin foil dinners and headed up to the mountain to hang out all day! Travis and Kade made their own little camping spot... ( like seriously stomped down all the growth & made a little camp fire) lol right in the middle of a bunch of Quaking Aspens! It was seriously soooo pretty! We had a lot of fun relaxing and playing some games and roasting some marshmallows for some delicious SMORES!! Oh I learned a new way to eat a SMORE! Set your graham cracker and chocolate on a rock in the campfire and let it get all warm and melty! DELICIOUS!Ok here are some pictures!!

30 Weeks!

Wow. So I am 30 weeks today! It is kinda hard to believe. The past couple months have kinda gone by SUPER fast! I guess it is time to start getting ready for this little guy to get here... like start buying stuff for him :) ... and getting his room ready !! I cleaned all mine and Travis' stuff out of our 2nd bedroom... so now I guess its time to start getting his room all done and cute :). My parents gave us my dads dresser that he had as a kid and Travis completely refinished it. It was painted white...So Travis put in a lot of hard work.. and it turned out great!! So at least we have 1 piece of furniture for his room!

I have started to feel him move around TONS lately! I think he is running out of room cause it feels to me like he is stretching in there when he pokes me with one of his body parts lol! I love it! K well here are the 30 Week pics ...

We are coming down to visit AZ 2nd week in July! I am soooo excited :) Hopefully it wont be to HOT!

Eventful Weekend!

First of all, ALL of last week Travis was at Scout Camp and I was a loner! Luckily I actually have a couple friends that were willing to hang out with me :) so I had a productive/ fun week! I went to Strawberry Days Rodeo one day.. and Carnival another day.. and cutest baby contest another day! I seriously love Strawberry Days.. and the strawberries and creme they sell.... to die for!! YUMMY! Those were probably the highlights of the week.... but the best thing is I got my house soooo clean! That is pretty easy to do when you live by yourself :)!!

This past weekend my sister-in-law Ashley got married to Sean Natoli! It was so much fun to go down to Cedar City and celebrate with her... I honestly wish I would have taken more pictures but oh well... here are some!

On to Fathers Day! I am sooooo thankful for all the fathers in my life! They seriously are the BEST! I am so thankful for my dad and all that he has done for me! I know that he loves his girls so much and I couldn't have asked for a better dad! He has seriously ALWAYS been there for me whenever I need him! He is also one of the funniest guys I know :) I miss my daddy and can't wait to see him next! I am also thankful for my Dad Harris! He is such a caring guy and always is very understanding and has great advice! And then, of course, I am so thankful for my husband Travis who will be a daddy super soon! He is very patient and such a hard worker, and I know that he is gonna be such a good dad!! I love him so much and I am excited that I get to have a family with him :)!!

Lets see... other updates! Travis got braces this morning! I think he looks like a little kid with them... haha! He has to wear them for 9-12 months :)! And I have a baby doctor appointment this Wednesday! I am looking forward to that! OH and I think I know what I want my theme to be for the baby room.... I'm thinking cowboy/western! I can even get a little pair of cowboy boots for the decor.. but here is some of the inspiration:

This past weekend for Memorial Day Travis & I, Trevor & Darby, Clayton & Katie, and Dayne and Elizabeth all got to take a little trip down to St. George to stay with Darby's parents in their gorgeous home!! It was seriously so nice to be able to go swimming and actually feel warm and relax all weekend! The summer is the busiest time for the sod farm so sometimes it is hard for all 3 brothers to get away together :) , so I am so glad that we could actually make it happen!!

25 Weeks!

I just realized I took a "belly" picture @ 15 weeks & 20 weeks... so I figured I better do a 25 week picture too! So ya, I am 25 weeks along!

Time is going by fast & slow at the same time! I kinda just wish September would get here already... but I know it will be here soon enough! I had a doctors appointment just the other day and I have gained 11 pounds total so far!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh. I don't know if I am on the normal track or not, but still ... dang! For the first time the doctor measured my tummy cause I actually have a tummy going on now!! When Dr. Haskett was getting the babies heartbeat he was laughing so much saying "WOW, your baby is moving ALOT!! You better be getting ready for destruction!!" I am just happy my little guy is healthy and active :) !! They gave me this orange drink that I have to do in 2 weeks ... a glucose test or something! I hear it is pretty nasty. But oh well... I am just EXTREMELY nervous for the RhoGAM shot that I have to get @ that appointment because I have negative blood and Travis does not. I hear it is pretty brutal..... ya! I'm scared.

Anyways! I can feel our baby all the time now! Travis has felt him plenty of times and it is just so fun! I love it!

We ordered a California King Size bed & we get to go pick it up tonight! I am seriously so excited for a big bed! We have been sleeping in a full, and although we like to cuddle, having some more space will be nice! I already have sheets for it and everything so we will be sleeping on that tonight!

I have just started looking @ cribs and rocking chairs and stuff and I am trying to figure out what exactly I want! I always thought I knew, but when it comes down to it I don't! But in the next couple months we will have to get his room all put together!!

We are going down to St. George this weekend! I CANNOT WAIT. I need some warmth and some sunshine & some swim time!! Its depressing when it is almost June and we woke up to seriously 5 INCHES of snow on Monday! Talk about weird.
